My name is Matthew Clay. I am the sole owner, decision maker, and rock breaker here at MRC Lithics.
Flintknapping has truly been a gift to me over the years. Being able to combine my love for creativity, geology, and nature through the the ancient craft of flintknapping is so rewarding and checks all the boxes for me. Well, all but one box and without a doubt the most important one for me. That is being able to share my passion for this art form and some of the prettiest stones the planet has to offer with all of you.
There has been literal blood, sweat, and yes; even a tear or two along the way. Despite all of this, I would not change a single thing about my journey if I had to do it all again. The successes always make the failures worth it and I am always learning new things just like in my career as an IT professional.
